Department has been established with the vision to prepare the students for successful engineering career with good practical knowledge. The department has an excellent industrial interaction and contributes to the industry by regular interaction and sharing knowledge and ideas. Department has young, talented and well experienced faculties form various well recognized institute and their specialization in different field of Mechanical engineering.

The engineering field requires an understanding of core concept. So, the department has developed the laboratories  like Elements of Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Machines, Material science and Metallurgy, Fluid power Engineering,  Mechanical Measurements & Metrology, Internal Combustion  engine, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Production  Technology, Heat Transfer, Dynamics of Machine, Computer Integrating Manufacturing , Automobile engineering with  well-equipped Workshop.

The department is continuously striving to achieve excellence in academic and industry oriented research and projects which are useful to the society. Department has made MoU with various organizations such as and Ommel Coils Pvt. Ltd.,Competence CNC, SOPAN Institute of Engineering and Design  and JMT India Ltd.
